It’s been Christmas all up in here, complete with the best Christmas movie of all time playing on repeat: White Christmas.
If you haven’t seen White Christmas, I recommend getting your hands on it immediately. Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney will melt your heart, and Vera Ellen has the tiniest waist I’ve ever seen. It’s a beautiful classic, and I really mean beautiful. The style in this movie is incredible, and they do some of the best holiday color blocking, oh probably ever. (If you think I’m exaggerating the greatness of this movie, you are mistaken.)
Now on the 132nd time I watched this movie, I realized they often wear this lovely mustardy yellow color. See below.
So in honor of their excellent winter colors, I’ve made some outfit ideas on Polyvore. Here’s a way to incorporate this color at work. I also recommend exactly copying Rosemary Clooney’s outfit when she wears a yellow blouse and black skirt and killer black heels because she gets it exactly right.
And more casually, since most of us can’t pull off that leotard and mini miniskirt Vera Ellen is wearing.
Seriously, this movie is gorgeous. It could provide outfit inspiration for many months. In fact, Rosemary Clooney could write the book, teach a class, and hand out PhDs on how to wear stunning, dramatic black dresses in
two three (I found another) scenes of this movie alone. But I’ll save that for another post. In the meantime, I have even more ideas for this color on Polyvore, check it out!
